The response from every individual is different. Some people feel little to no pain, while others don't feel anything at all. The needles used in acupuncture are very thin, sterile and used only once.
The use of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, moxibustion (the warming of points with an herb), cupping (stimulation of points with suction) and tu na (Chinese medical massage).
First Visit/Treatment: Usually the first visit will take an hour and a half and will consist of a detailed health history, a consultation and a short acupuncture session.
Consecutive Treatments: Most often will be around 45 minutes and consist of a brief follow up question session and acupuncture treatment.
Different conditions will require different lengths of treatment. Acute conditions tend to respond more quickly and may only need a few sessions, while chronic conditions may take longer to respond to treatment, requiring a longer treatment period. Every individual responds differently.
